There is information on home decor, cooking, cleaning, fashion, accessories, music, makeup, hairstyles or attitudes. Here are a few ideas for where to attain this must have reading.

Vintage cookbooks & Women’s Weekly Retro cookbooks

Vintage cookbooks and new retro cookbooks are great for recipes from yesteryear. You may need to use the Internet to work out the metric conversions. Some of the recipes will take you back to your childhood, when parents or grandparents used to cook for you. There is so many yummy recipes to try.

Vintage home decorating books and modern retro books on home decorating

Vintage home decorating books are great for ideas on how to complete a retro decor. You will see many interesting items that you would love to buy to achieve this look. Items can be found online, garage sales, charity stores or vintage shops. Also modern retro books give you ideas of where to get modern retro items, from shops such as Matt Blatt, Glicks, Sokol, etc.

 

Vintage Made Magazine

Vintage Made Magazine is an Australian magazine, which is excellent for ideas on achieving that retro fashion look. It gives you alot of information on fashion, makeup and hairstyles and where to purchase items. You will often get a pattern to create your own clothing and a step by step guide on how to make it. There is also craft tips on how to achieve the look of a vintage item. It is a great magazine!

 

Vintage Life Magazine

Vintage Life Magazine is jammed packed with festivals to go to, places to shop, fashion, accessories, makeup and hair. It is a really great read and contains very interesting information and stories.

 

Hair & makeup retro books

The above books are great for tips on retro hairstyles & retro style makeup. The different hairstyles are great to experiment on your hair and to see which styles suit you. You may need help to achieve some of the styles or you could take the pictures to your hairdresser to do styles for special occasions.
