Women in the 50s had many roles. They may work outside of the home and inside the home. They were housewives, mothers, beauticians, hostess, handy man, a decorator, a vet, undergo doctor or dental duties, psychiatry help, financial help & decisions, cleaning, washing and ironing, cooking, taxi driver, support for her parents and numerous other duties. And that is just for her family. The happiness and welfare of the whole family rests mainly on her shoulders!
But today those jobs do remain the same. We are underpaid still and have the same numerous duties, however our partners may help a lot more. But with study, work, exercise and family, our lives are still so busy and our duties are never ending.
The idea behind my blog is to help you with retro and craft ideas & tips. How to still love the 50s, 60s and 70s while living in this modern busy world.
I love retro clothes, music, hair, furniture and all things retro! My husband has always told me that I was born in the wrong era but I believe my modern way of thinking would have been frowned upon in the 50s. I would have been classed as a ‘rebel’. I love my family, my career, studying and the options that are available in my life.
Let’s hope that all my future tips and ideas can spark ideas to help you celebrate your retro lifestyle too!!
