Travel Around The Country Side

My husband and I have recently been travelling around Australia. We visited so many unique places and had so many new and wonderful experiences. There is so much to explore! I wanted to share with you a few of our favourite places that we visited…

Queensland

Longreach – This area was like a step back in time and the locals were so friendly. I highly recommend going for a ride on the Cobb and Co stage coach. It was truly a unique experience. We also had a Drover’s Sunset Cruise on an old paddle boat ride which was a wonderful experience. Afterwards we enjoyed a traditional old time outback dinner on the fire.
The little town of Longreach is full of amazing old shops . There are many displays and shows to go to which were all great examples of how it was throughout history. Another highlight was the Winton Dinosaur tours. This was also amazing experience, seeing how they preserve the bones and the tracks they have found in their local area of dinosaurs. You even get touch a dinosaur bone. Can’t say I have ever done that before!

Charlotte Plains – We camped on a huge sheep station and campground at Cunnamulla. There was Artesian hot springs that you could enjoy in an outdoor bath or shower, or you could swim in the natural spring dams. It was so much fun and I have always wanted to have an outdoor bath on a farm! So that was an experience ticked off my bucket list. You could enjoy an outdoor fire at night in the fire pits. There was also a tour guide in the day time on the sheep station. It was a wonderful outback experience and I just loved it. I highly recommend that you camp here if you are travelling in the area. It is another unique experience of outback Australia.

Walkabout Creek – Being a huge fan of the movie, Crocodile Dundee, we had to stop in at the famous pub and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of memorabilia from the movie and I was glad that we visited. It was an exciting experience and it felt like you had stepped right into the movie scene. The staff were super friendly and the locals were too.

These were my favourite places in outback Queensland. I will tell you about my favourite places in Northern Territory in my next blog If you ever get the opportunity to travel around Australia, I highly recommend it. People live such different lives out there and there is so many wonderful places to explore. Go Travel!
