Hanami, also known as the Cherry Blossom festival, is the Japanese tradition of welcoming Spring. Many gather under the blossoming trees for food, drink, songs and socialising.

Many other countries also celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival and include a lot of the Japanese traditions.

In Sydney, The Auburn Botanical Gardens also holds the Cherry Blossom Festival. This year it was held from the 17th to 26th August. Certain days celebrate different aspects of the festival. However every day, the main attractions included the Cherry Blossom trail, the Zen Garden, the Peacock Gallery and the food market.

If you get a chance to visit the Cherry Blossom Festival next time, then I would highly recommend it. They are gorgeous flowers and look really stunning when all the trees are in a row. It is also a great opportunity to take some stunning photos with a glamorous back drop.

Back soon…..
