Girls Night Out

On Wednesday Night Hoyt’s Cinemas had a special “Girls Night Out” and it celebrated the 30 year anniversary of the fantastic movie “Dirty Dancing”. This is one of my favourite movies, so I organised a group of my friends, as we had to go.

Dirty Dancing 30 Year special screening

I was so excited as I had never seen Dirty Dancing on the big screen. So this was going to be a very special occasion.

Ready for outing

We had a splendid dinner before the movie at Thai Rock. When we arrived to the cinema we all received a special gift to celebrate the Girls Night Out and a complimentary glass of champagne!

Dirty Dancing is a great movie starring Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle and Jennifer Grey as Frances (Baby) Houseman. The movie is set in the Summer of 1963 at a family resort at Kellerman’s. The minute Baby sees Johnny she is intrigued by his look, and after witnessing his “Dirty Dancing” style, she became even more intrigued .

Baby’s personality is to help people, and she tries to help Johnny’s dance party, Penny who has fallen pregnant. This leads her to become Johnny’s dance partner. The two fall in love much to the shock of everyone at Kellerman’s and especially Baby’s father.

The final dance scene in Dirty Dancing

Once Baby’s father understands that Johnny didn’t get his dance partner pregnant and really does hold Baby with high regard, he forgives his daughter and Johnny and becomes more accepting of their relationship. The movie ends with everyone at Kellerman’s joining in the dirty dancing style.

This is a movie about accepting others, forbidden love, growing up and life for females during the 60s.

The iconic Scene “Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner”

The musical score is exceptional, featuring songs such as She’s Like The Wind, The Time of My Life, Hungry Eyes and Do You Love Me.

This is an iconic movie and if you haven’t had the opportunity to watch it, then check it out! Also join in one of the great Girls Nights Out at Hoyts. It is a great night that involves lots of laughter, singing and just having fun!

What is one of your favourite iconic movies? Let me know, I would love to hear about them.

Back Soon….

Ridiculously Retro Xx
