I had the opportunity to see Kinky Boots at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre (which is a great old theatre) with some friends.
We got in early, had a great Thai lunch and did some shopping! We found a shop in China Town full of flamingo items, so of course I bought a few things. It was a fun day and the Theatre Show was brilliant!!
The story of Kinky Boots is based on a true story of the journey of a family shoe business facing bankruptcy.

Charlie takes over the family shoe business and meets a transvestite cabaret performer, Lola. Charlie collaborates with Lola to make “kinky” boots for males to wear comfortably in the hope of saving the family business.

It ends with the success in their relationships and the shoe business in Milan! As well as Charlie finding a new love. They show the struggles and development of all their relationships, including the shoe factory workers. It is about accepting others even if they are different to you!

The show was so enjoyable. The music by Cindi Lauper was brilliant, and added so much to the show. It was wonderful! The whole show was so dazzling and an outstanding performance.

If you get the opportunity to see Kinky Boots, you should go. I am sure you will love it just as much as we did. Tell me what you thought, I would love to hear about your experience too!! Next theatre show for me is My Fair Lady, and then Priscilla Queen of The Dessert. Are you planning on any theatre shows soon?
Back Soon…..
