Sometimes You Just Have To Get Away

We had a wonderful weekend away at Ettalong Beach.

First we stopped at the lookout above Ettalong. What a view!

 

It is a lovely old town surrounded by water.

It has a lively promenade along the beach, with a lot of people and their dogs. It also has a great restaurant and a little cafe.

 

 

There is pelican feeding and pelicans galore in the water and resting by the foreshore

 

We went for a look through the shops too (of course). There is a Tuscan style Theatre with a market on Saturdays. The theatre is built to look old but was actually built in 1999.

 

 

I even managed to find a vintage shop and brought this chair for my bedroom

There was a dry cleaners with a great motto so I had to take a picture.  I could imagine all the rude pictures taken here with that motto.

 

On the Sunday there was Studibaker Car Show. There were some great looking old cars, so that was fun.

The below one was perfect for me. It is a red convertible studibaker. With red and cream leather interior. It was a gorgeous car.

I also found this great old fence, which I would love for my place. Isn't it cool!

Ettalong is a relaxed old town with walking and bike tracks everywhere to enjoy along the waters edge. They have upgraded the foreshore and promenade. There is a ferry that can take you from Palm Beach to Ettalong in just over an hour. And it takes just over an hour and a half to drive from Sydney. There are many restaurants and cafes to enjoy and of course fresh seafood. There is so much to see and do. And it is great for sight seeing including a great walk up Blackwall Mountain. There is plenty of swimming in summertime.
